Job Description

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
:
Psychiatrists who may be considering making a change in their practice now or in the future – and who seek a better professional / personal life balance and the outstanding quality of life.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Administers direct patient care which includes but is not limited to: initial psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic evaluations, medication evaluations and treatment at more than one program site.
  • Reviews medical history, orders laboratory tests and reviews results.
  • Provide inpatient hospital and intensive outpatient treatment to adults and adolescents with a comprehensive treatment team. Duties will include admission evaluations; treatment planning and treatment team leadership; daily care of assigned patients; and administrative activities related to patient care.
  • Conducts medical examinations necessary in the course of medication monitoring.
  • Provide physician services, assessment, diagnosis, psychiatric treatment regimen, rehabilitation plans, and support services to persons served by the program’s treatment team.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Demonstrates appropriate medication administration.
  • Prepares documentation regarding medications complies with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Composes timely, accurate, and thorough documentation of patient behavior, medical interventions, treatment planning and intervention.
Qualifications
  • Medical Degree (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Board certified or board eligible (become board certified within 3 years of employment)
  • Candidate must have completed a residency in psychiatry and be board eligible.
  • Ability to prescribe appropriate medications for the treatment of physical and psychological disorders
  • Ability to work successfully in a multidisciplinary environment
