The YMCA is seeking a School Age Associate Program Director. This position requires someone who has energy, a positive mindset and strong leadership skills to supervise, teach, nurture and encourage our staff and kiddos with a balance of empathy, accountability, role modeling and hands‑on work.

You have the flexibility and calm nature to navigate the ups and downs that can come with the job, and you work well with administrative and program‑based tasks.
This is a year‑round, full‑time role, working Monday‑Friday hours varying from 6:45 am‑6:00 pm and the position continues through summer as full‑time day camp site director. Positions continue 40 hours a week through summer at one of our 15+ Day Camp Locations.
Salary: USD $20.00 – $25.00 /hr. Responsibilities- Work with Program Directors to manage, direct and coordinate program areas, ensuring high‑quality programs and establishing new program activities.
- Direct a before‑school site 3–4 mornings per week and an after‑school site 5 afternoons each week.
- Train, develop, schedule and direct personnel and volunteers as needed; develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations related to program areas and YMCA program standards and safety procedures.
- Inform Program Director of needed upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment; ensure the physical environment supports safety practices aligning with YMCA, Health Department and CDHS standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with school administration; check in weekly with office staff to communicate updates or concerns.
- Provide staff leadership for annual fundraising campaign and represent the YMCA at association special events.
- Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 21 years or older.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid, or willingness to become certified.
- At least one of the following:
- A four‑year degree in a related field.
- 48 semester hours of college credit AND 910 hours of experience in a licensed program since turning 18.
- 5,640 hours of experience working directly with school‑age children with a group of 4 or more unrelated school‑age children.
