Position SummaryThe production operator is capable of contributing to all phases of the production process. This includes the operation of automated production equipment, primary diagnosis of machinery failures, aiding with preventative maintenance, and sanitation of equipment. Operators are expected to be competent to make production decisions concerning the preflight and operation of equipment. Operators must be flexible and adaptable, as they may be required to rotate job assignments throughout production.
In addition, it is the responsibility of the operator to contribute to the maintenance of a safe work environment for themselves and fellow operators. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality.
- Checks production work schedules for job assignment and work reporting time.
- SCALER/DIVIDER OPERATOR: checks and maintains production schedule; scales ingredients; loads, operates and unloads mixers; operates dough pump; checks scaling weights and equipment standards; adjusts and operates one pocket and six pocket dividers; adjusts and operates rounder; adjusts and operates overhead proofer; performs start-up/shut down sanitation and operator s preventative maintenance; ensures work area is clean and organized; complies with company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, etc.).
- WRAPPING OPERATOR: checks production schedule and verifies product running order; checks pan count sheet and wrap counts; sets and operates slicer, bagger, and tier equipment; performs quality control inspection of finished product; ensures proper loading; performs sanitation and maintenance; keeps area clean and organized; complies with company policies and procedures.
- PALLETIZER: checks production schedule and verifies product running order; ensures proper program is running; checks pallets and slip sheets for quantity; performs sanitation and maintenance; keeps area clean and organized; complies with company policies and procedures.
- ROLL LINE OPERATOR, BOARD MONITOR, RETARD BOX MONITOR: similar responsibilities apply.
- All employees are responsible and accountable for ensuring the quality and safety of every function and all products.
- Two years related bakery or production experience
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
