Responsibilities
  • Consistently demonstrate the Woods Supermarket D&E service and Hospitality 4 guidelines.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company standards.
  • Notify management of guest or teammate accidents or injuries.
  • Report all safety risks and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
  • Show respect, courtesy, and help to other teammates.
  • Stay current with all ads.
  • Know the store’s layout and guide guests to products.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Execute other miscellaneous tasks assigned by managers.
  • Process guest transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Understand the POS system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Maintain cash shortage and overage limits; work honestly and effectively to control loss.
  • Understand guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol or tobacco.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Pricing Coordinator.
  • Follow established policies and procedures for gift cards, coupons, etc.
  • Bag guest purchases quickly; ensure bags are filled appropriately and merchandise is not damaged.
  • Keep workspace clean and safe by sweeping floors, dusting shelves, cleaning check lanes, registers, and scales.
  • Understand operation, safety requirements, and restraints of an electronic cash register, scanner, scale, and intercom system.
  • Monitor front‑end service; call for additional help or open express lanes when necessary.
Work Environment
  • Interior work with variations in heat, cold, dust, humidity caused by opening store entrance doors. Some outside work may be required.
Qualifications
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical ability.
  • Ability to read and write English.
Physical Demands
  • Sit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, reach, push, pull, grip, twist, lift, climb, carry, walk, kneel.
Physical Capacity Classification

Participants must be able to perform the motions frequently and occasionally under the strength level highlighted for the role. Strength levels:
Sedentary (10 lbs), Light (20 lbs, 10 lbs), Medium (20‑50 lbs, 10‑25 lbs), Heavy (50‑100 lbs, 25‑50 lbs), Very Heavy (100+ lbs, 50+ lbs). Operators may handle case cutter, utility knife, forklift (with certification), pallet jack, compact baler, slicer, oven, fryer, knives, mixers as applicable.

Safety
  • All teammates must not use or be under the influence of illegal drugs, alcohol, or other impairing substances on the job.
  • All teammates must not create a direct threat to the health and safety of others on the job.
