Warehouse Material Handler - Midshift

Overview

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs, and may require overtime.

• Load, unload, stock tires and auto parts in a fast-paced warehouse environment using industrial vehicles such as a forklift or picker equipment
• Use scanners to find and put away tires and assist with inventory control
• Lift up to 50 pounds consistently, and up to 80 pounds occasionally. For commercial tires, perform team lifts or use mechanical equipment
• Exert a pushing force of up to 40 pounds when handling barrels or industrial/agricultural tires
• Work at heights up to 25 feet safely while operating equipment
• Be on the move and able to work on your feet for extended periods; willing to work overtime as needed
• Contribute to a culture of safety by adhering to all safety policies and procedures
• May assist other departments, such as ecomm, inventory, and will call, depending on business needs
• Drive a box truck under 26,001 pounds or other vehicles on routes with 10-20 deliveries per day; complete and maintain accurate records and logs as required
• Make on-time deliveries in a safe, punctual manner in all weather conditions
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle and operate a handheld device to fulfill deliveries
• Demonstrate effective communication with customers, coworkers, and management; collect payments from customers upon delivery

Physical demands:
The employee must be able to operate equipment safely with or without reasonable accommodation, frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds, and push up to 40 pounds. Handling of commercial tires may require team lifts or mechanical assistance.

Protective equipment required: steel or composite toe boots, safety vest, safety harness, seatbelt, SRL. All equipment is provided by U.S. Auto Force except for boots. Adhere to safety and manufacturer guidelines for all protective equipment.

Work environment:
May be exposed to weather conditions; moderate noise level; fumes from tires and lubricants.

• Must be 21 years or older
• 1 year of professional driving experience (cube van, box truck, or semi) and satisfactory completion of company road test
• 1 year of warehouse/logistics or relevant experience
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record; able to comply with driver policy
• Ability to be trained and safely use powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and high-reach lifts; forklift certification required
• Ability to safely lift 50 pounds consistently and occasionally 80 pounds
• Ability to exert a pushing force up to 40 pounds
• Ability to follow instructions and safe operating procedures
• Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (does not test for THC)
• Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one per DOT/FMCSA guidelines
