American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg position at a Level I trauma center requiring 2+ years of experience and a compact or PA RN license.

• Neuro Med/Surg unit on the 8th floor with 22 beds
• Adult patient population with common diagnoses including CVA, TIA, seizure, inability to ambulate, and common respiratory or urinary conditions
• Patient ratio of 1:6, potentially up to 1:7 depending on ED holds
• Night shift schedule from 7p-7a
• Weekend requirement of 2 of every 4 weekends or 4 of 8 weekend shift days, with straight weekends available if preferred
• Rare floating required if needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Mindray vital sign machines, GE EKG, and cardiac monitors
• EPIC EHR system used

• Active RN license (Compact or PA) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• NIH Stroke Scale and Swallow Screen certifications preferred
• Neuro experience ideal
• Competency in dysrhythmia recognition required, with a dysrhythmia and math dosage test administered on first day of orientation
• AHA certifications required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Active Nursys licensure verification required at time of consideration

• Located at a Level I Trauma Center offering a wide range of specialty services
• Supervised by the unit's nursing leadership
• Study guide and welcome packet provided in advance of dysrhythmia and math dosage testing
• Facility-provided education for any additional required training
• Scrub color is unrestricted, but hoodies, t-shirts with wording or images, and facial piercings are not permitted
• Availability for holidays required as determined during phone screening
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered
