American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg (Trauma/Ortho/Surgical) travel assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and a PA or compact RN license.

• Med/Surg unit on the 9th floor of a Level 1 Trauma Center, specializing in Trauma, Ortho, Surgical, Urology, and Colorectal care
• Adult patient population, primarily post-op
• Unit spans 44 beds across two nursing stations
• Patient ratio of 6:1, with potential to increase to 7:1
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment with weekly guaranteed hours of 36, with option for 48 hours/week
• Every other weekend required, with at least 2 of 4 weekends scheduled per 4-week period
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to units with comparable patient populations when needed
• Uses EPIC EHR system

• Active RN license (PA state or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current AHA certifications required
• EPIC EHR experience required
• Must demonstrate ability to manage a 7:1 patient ratio
• Trauma care experience required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia and medication dosage calculation test prior to starting on the unit
• Must complete all required PA background screenings including fingerprinting and state police clearance prior to start
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care for adult trauma, orthopedic, surgical, urology, and colorectal patients, primarily post-operative
• Robust float team in place, minimizing likelihood of travelers being floated off the unit
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• No designated scrub color, but professional appearance required
• Facial piercings not permitted except for a single-sided nose stud; facial hoops are not allowed
• Must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be eligible for travel rate
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on this assignment
• Flexible, friendly, and collaborative personality fit preferred
