American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center's Orthopedic and Spine Surgery unit requiring a PA or compact RN license and 2+ years of experience.

• Orthopedic and Spine Surgery unit on the 9th floor of a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Adult patient population including trauma, orthopedic, urology, colorectal, and surgical post-op patients
• Unit spans one floor with 44 beds across two nursing stations
• Patient ratios of 6:1, up to 7:1
• Uses EPIC EHR system
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts within a 4-week schedule, with at least 2 weekends typically scheduled
• No call requirements
• Float required to units with comparable patient population, though likelihood is low due to robust internal float team
• 48-hour work weeks accommodated upon request

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required
• 2+ years of RN experience required
• Trauma unit experience required
• EPIC EHR experience required
• Ability to manage a 7:1 patient ratio required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia and medication dosage calculation test with the facility's education department prior to starting on the unit
• AHA certifications required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Active license verification via Nursys required at time of consideration
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance required
• PA Department of Human Services fingerprinting required
• FBI Department of Aging fingerprinting required (within last two years)
• PATCH (PA State Police Clearance) required

• Provide direct patient care for post-operative trauma, orthopedic, and surgical patients
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• No designated scrub color, but professional appearance required
• Facial piercings other than a single-sided nose stud are not permitted, including facial hoops
• Flexible, friendly, and willing-to-work attitude expected
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered
