American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 Trauma hospital's Orthopedic and Spine Surgery unit, requiring 2+ years of experience and the ability to manage up to a 7:1 patient ratio.

• Work on the 9th Floor Orthopedic and Spine Surgery unit, a 44-bed floor split across two nursing stations
• Adult patient population including trauma, orthopedic, urology, colorectal, and surgical post-op cases
• Patient ratios of 6:1, with potential for up to 7:1
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required, with at least 2 of 4 weekends scheduled in a 4-week period
• No on-call requirements
• Float required to units with comparable patient population when needed
• Uses Epic EHR

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• 2+ years of RN experience required
• EPIC EHR experience required
• Must demonstrate ability to manage up to a 7:1 patient ratio
• Trauma and orthopedic experience preferred
• Must pass a dysrhythmia and dosage calculation test administered by the facility's education department prior to starting on the unit
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance, fingerprinting, and PATCH (PA State Police) clearance required prior to start

• Provide direct patient care for trauma, orthopedic, urology, colorectal, and surgical post-op patients
• Robust float team in place, making staff floating off-unit unlikely but possible
• Professional appearance required with no designated scrub color
• Facial piercings restricted to a single-sided nose stud; facial hoops not permitted
• Orientation held weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be flexible, friendly, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be 60+ miles from facility to be considered a travel candidate
• Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time during the assignment
