Shipping Clerk - 1st shift at RJW Logistics Group

Schedule:
Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
Pay: $18.00/hour

Reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. Provides shipping support, schedules shipping and freight operations, ensures accurate shipping documentation, and maintains customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Check in drivers and print related paperwork.
- Coordinate dock loading and verify driver signatures.
- Close loads in the system.
- Manage customer special paperwork (e.g., international, special BOLs) and fully index documents.
- Communicate customer issues and relevant inquiries to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information.
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
- Update operational reports per manager’s requests.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Positive telephone personality and phone assertiveness training.
- Exceptional customer‑service skills.
- Strong organizational and scheduling abilities.
- Multi‑tasking capability.
- Computer proficiency: word processing, spreadsheets, and learning new software.
- Basic clerical skills, including typing ≥40 wpm.
- 1–2 years clerical experience.
- Prior transportation, logistics, or shipping experience.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Effective communication (read, write, speak) in English.
Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively; interpret business documents and respond to client inquiries.
Mathematical SkillsProficiency in arithmetic, ratios, percentages; ability to read and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilitySolving practical problems with limited standardization, interpreting instructions, and determining corrective action.
Computer SkillsKnowledge of business OS, internet software, word processing, and spreadsheets; ability to train others.
Physical Demands- Occasional lifting/moving of up to 25 lb.
- Use of keyboards/buttons, phone operation.
- Long periods seated or performing repetitive hand motions.
- Standing, walking, speaking, and sensory acuity requirements.
- Ability to work >8 hours and manage stress while maintaining accuracy.
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and varying noise level (quiet to moderately loud).
