Key Details- Hours:
30-40 hours per week. - Schedule:
Occasional light call requirements plus approximately one weekend every three months. - Travel:
Position requires travel between our locations in Joliet, New Lenox, and Orland Park.
- Secure patient histories and perform physical exams; update schedules for recheck visits.
- Interpret x‑rays; order additional imaging such as CTs and MRIs.
- Perform hip and shoulder injections; apply casts, splints, braces under physician supervision.
- Remove staples, sutures, and prescribe medication.
- See patients independently and in collaboration with physicians; dictate clinic progress notes.
- Order appropriate tests and develop treatment plans with physician approval.
- Assist in triaging physician calls.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all patient visits.
- Occasional peer‑to‑peer review of MRIs ordered.
- Conduct follow‑up calls as needed.
Internal:
Physicians, PAs, NPs, administrators, and clinical staff.
External:
Patients, families, referral sources, hospital personnel, vendors, and regulatory/insurance personnel.
Occasional exposure to electrical and chemical hazards, lifting associated patient transfers (up to 50 lbs.), blood‑borne pathogens, and weather elements. Requires verbal and written communication in English.
Requirements Educational & Licensing- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Active IL state licensure and certification from NCCPA.
- Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (preferred).
- ACLS desired; current CPR required.
- At least two years of experience in a physician office or hospital.
- Training in orthopedic care preferred (1–2 years), though training is provided.
- Ability to make independent patient‑care decisions.
- Demonstrated competence, judgment, professionalism, and integrity.
- Experience diagnosing and treating patients; familiarity with managed care and Medicare populations.
- Proficiency with EHR software and practice management.
- Must be a self‑starter, highly organized, with excellent time‑management and multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for professional communication with physicians, patients, and staff.
Salary: $102,000–$145,000 per year.
