Summary/Objective
The Safety and Compliance Trainer instructs different types of learners of different class sizes in a variety of environments.

- Develops training curriculum to communicate key safety- and compliance-related concepts
- Verbally and visually communicates to a wide variety of professionals in both a classroom and field settings
- Reinforces specific concepts with hands-on training and simulated environments
- Ensures material is adequately communicated and retained through written and practical testing techniques
- Communicates with the training coordinator to ensure appropriate student information is entered and tracked
- Evaluates personal feedback and incorporates suggestions for course improvement
- Prepares the classroom for use and ensures handouts are prepared in advance
- Cleans and replenishes supplies in training classrooms after each class
- Professionally interacts with other employees and customers
- Maintains the ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including copy machines, TVs, video projectors, and printers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; stoop; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel;
and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, lifting up to 25 pounds, and ability to adjust focus.
This is a part-time position. Employee can expect to work up to 10 hours per day when teaching a class.
TravelThis position requires minimal travel, up to 10%.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- HS Diploma
- Moderate level of computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Quick Books, Adobe Acrobat/PDFs – ability to edit and create, scanning)
- Ability to learn new skills within a time limit set by management
- Familiarity with OSHA training requirements
- Two years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
Education and Experience
- Five years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
- Two years’ experience as a safety manager or safety-related role
