Director of Finance - Dual Property

Hollywood Casino Joliet

Salary

$120,000 to $150,000 annually, based on experience

Overview

Lead the Finance department across both Hollywood Casino Aurora and Hollywood Casino Joliet, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Direct overall operations and staff of the Finance department, including AP/Payroll, Revenue Accounting, General Ledger, Cage/Credit, Count, and Warehouse/Receiving. Develop, implement, and manage operational goals and monitor performance and profit objectives.
  • Ensure effective scheduling while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives, and adhering to deadlines.
  • Assist in preparing, monitoring, and adhering to budgets; report budget concerns and deviations to Executive Management/GM.
  • Develop, maintain, and document the Accounting System of Internal Control.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute an efficient accounting and financial reporting system for internal and external reporting required by the SEC, IRS, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance for the Accounting System of Internal Controls as required by governing bodies.
  • Create and maintain periodic, quality internal reporting processes to aid Management in analyzing results and making business decisions.
  • Propose operational efficiencies to Management and assist in implementing developed processes.
  • Responsible for the annual Company Budget and Capital Plan, including planning, execution, and variance reporting.
  • Build and maintain a qualified staff capable of complying with all Financial Reporting and Accounting Internal Controls.
  • Maintain knowledge of GAAP, SEC, IRS, State Revenue, and State Gaming Control Board regulations.
  • Provide superior customer service; ensure department meets customer service goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and report potential issues to Executive Management/GM.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four‑year college or university. MBA preferred but not required.
  • Seven years of Accounting, Audit, or Finance experience; gaming experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, and Word).
  • Ability to operate in a highly confidential environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Develop staff through training and performance management.
  • Implement rewards and recognition programs to maximize employee engagement.
  • Provide constructive feedback to employees and evaluate performance.
  • Recommend staffing decisions, including hiring and scheduling.
  • Define work procedures and expedite workflow.
  • Address employee performance issues, including discipline and counseling.
Language Skills

Read and interpret documents in English; communicate verbally and written in English.

Reasoning Ability

Apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions; handle problems involving multiple variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Employee must qualify for any required licenses and permits under federal, state, and local regulations. Required company training provided.

Physical Demands

Regular standing, hand use (fingers, tools), reaching, talking or hearing. Must lift up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance in varying work areas and confined spaces.

Work Environment

Noise level usually low to moderate. Standard office conditions apply.
