Inside Sales​/Project Manager

Nichols Crane Rental, a family-owned and operated business for over 30 years, located in Joliet, IL, is looking for a Dispatch Coordinator for the greater Chicagoland area. This is a full-time, exempt position with a comprehensive benefits package in a casual business environment.

• Coordinate and dispatch heavy-duty cranes for industrial lifting operations across job sites
• Communicate clearly and effectively with crane operators, riggers, site supervisors, and other personnel
• Monitor crane schedules and job progress to ensure maximum efficiency and minimize downtime
• Maintain strict adherence to all safety standards and industry regulations
• Respond to operational challenges in real time, rerouting or adjusting crane assignments as needed
• Maintain accurate records of crane usage, load capacities, schedules, and job logs
• Collaborate with site management to assess project requirements and allocate resources accordingly
• Troubleshoot and elevate equipment or logistical issues promptly
• Utilize dispatching software and other systems to track crane movements and manage workflow
• Ensure all crane operations are carried out in compliance with OSHA and company policies

• Proven experience in crane dispatching or industrial operations (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment and crane capabilities (preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with dispatching and scheduling software; computer literate (Windows-based systems)
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

• Ability to work in an industrial setting (construction sites, factories, yards)
• Comfortable working long hours or flexible shifts when required
• Must be able to sit for extended periods while using a computer and communication equipment
