Jobsite Setup Technician

Job Purpose

As a Jobsite Setup tech, you will be the first line of contact for our customers and your role is critical for the proper handling and installation of our customers’ equipment and services. Successful Jobsite Setup tech excel and place value on the following:

• Safely deliver, load/unload and install the equipment we rent (Pumps, Power & Temperature Control)
• Apply your mechanical ability to perform minor maintenance on equipment as directed by the branch manager or onsite supervisor.
• Provide excellent customer service and solutions to our customers.

• Plan – create a project plan and execute with team members.
• Prepare the yard – make sure all rental equipment and necessary material are prepped and ready for shipment.
• Communicate – represent Herc Rentals in communicating with the customers, Sales and internal resources.
• Document projects from daily notes, labor logs, progress reports, change orders and all other necessary documentation as part of the protocol for each project.
• Assist with cleanliness of shop and yard and ready rental equipment when not assigned a project.
• Assist with deliveries, pick‑ups, and everyday business when not assigned a project.
• Provide support to shop mechanics engaged in equipment repairs or maintenance when not assigned a project.
• Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
• Attend all training and manufacturing training as directed.

• 1 year of work experience using mechanical/technical skills
• Basic equipment knowledge and troubleshooting experience – pumps, generators, power distribution, and temperature control.
• Required to lift up to 40 pounds and continuously carry 5 pounds
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles, CDL is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent

Pay Range: Union Rate $43.15 per hour
