Bio Life Plasma Services (a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.) is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to work as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in our plasma donation centers.
OverviewAs a Medical Support Specialist, you will support plasma collection operations and ensure quality standards are met. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Physician.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, educate on AIDS, provide confidential self‑exclusion, and interview medical history.
- Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review serological results including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events, evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs, and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings not acceptable to donors and for medical or technical issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER per EHS guidance.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified as an LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Eligibility for state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $26.15 – $35.96.
