Founded in 1982 as Joliet Area Community Hospice, Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care is an independent nonprofit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in northwest Illinois. We are currently seeking a Registry Resource RN. We have a state-of-the-art facility and the first free-standing in-patient Hospice Home in Illinois. We have over a 35-year history of providing compassionate professional care to terminally ill patients and their families.

We are state licensed and Medicare/Medicaid certified.

This position offers a flexible schedule with a minimum of four 8-hour shifts per month, including 2 shifts on weekends. The successful candidate can work additional hours beyond the minimum. The Resource RN is a float position, which may involve working at the Triage RN desk, in the field, or in the Inpatient Unit. Responsibilities include providing skilled nursing interventions and supportive care in patients' homes, nursing homes, or long-term care facilities.

The RN administers medications and treatments as prescribed, assists with referrals and admissions, and supports patients with activities of daily living to promote self-sufficiency and comfort.

Requirements include an RN license with at least one year of nursing experience, preferably in public health, home care, or hospice nursing. The candidate must be self-directed, able to work independently, and possess a valid driver's license with insured, well-maintained vehicle.
