• Supervises individuals in custody in accordance with agency rules and standards.
• Observes individuals in custody and reports behavior and reactions to other professional team members.
• Receives ongoing training to develop new and updated skills and improve proficiency in carrying out specialized service delivery programs involving group or individual services to individuals in custody.
• Ensures individuals in custody have access to necessary and appropriate medical services.
• Maintains assigned area in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
• Transports and supervises individuals in custody movement to and from destinations inside and/or outside the facility grounds, including correctional centers, court, and hospitals.
• Translates functions or procedures into Spanish for individuals who cannot speak or read English.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

• Successful completion of the Corrections Treatment Officer Training Program.

• Working knowledge of behavioral problems and interventions required to foster appropriate behaviors.
• Working knowledge of the nature and treatment of mental illness or developmental disability.

• Physical ability to perform duties assigned.
• Valid, appropriate driver's license and the ability to travel statewide.
• Ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
• Ability to pass a drug screen.
• Compliance with all vaccine and/or medical standards set by the employer.
• Ability to carry a firearm.
• Proficiency in utilizing digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation within the department.
