Job Summary/Description:

KAIT in Jonesboro, Arkansas, has an immediate opening for an aggressive, dynamic, and creative News Producer. The ideal candidate will possess excellent news judgment, strong producing and showcasing skills, and strong writing skills. The News Producer will work closely with the MMJs, fellow Producers, and the Assistant News Director on planning, producing, writing, and executing daily newscasts.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Produce 30-minute newscasts nightly with a combination of local, state, and national news.
- Make/answer calls about stories and breaking news.
- Write for Broadcast.
- Write for
- Edit video for newscasts when necessary.
- Select and report daily on stories happening around Region 8.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Degree in Journalism or related field.
- Knowledge of AP style.
- Knowledge of ENPS is a plus.
- Quick thinking/takes initiative, capable of breaking down news situations.
- Experience with newsroom environments is a plus.
