JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education
    • College graduate with degree in accounting. Certification by state board as a certified public accountant is strongly recommended.
  • Experience
    • Requires five years accounting experience (CPA firm or in hospital environment preferred). Proficiency in working with Excel. Working knowledge of various computer software... Microsoft Office essential, OnBase Imaging preferred.

      Interpersonal, phone, writing procedures and documentation.

      Skills:

      Skills:

      Profit and loss statement, balance sheet, trial balance, general ledger and supporting journals, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, budget, cost system, strong computerized accounting skills.
  • Physical

    • Normal hospital environment. Extremely close eye work -- work on computer up to eight hours per day and continuous reading. Hearing. Hearing within normal range. Motor coordination and finger dexterity required to operate computer and calculator. Talking, repetitive motion and writing, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Continuous sitting (99% of time), some walking and bending. Filing and storing files.

      Repetitive motion of the hands, back, arms and legs.
JOB SUMMARY
  • Day to day activities of the accounting function for Total Life Healthcare in support of the Total Life Healthcare CFO.
  • Coordinates audits by outside audit companies and Medicare.
  • Coordinates the preparation of the Medicare Part D Bid.
  • Supervises and coordinates the corporate entities accounting activities related to budget preparation, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Analyzes reports monthly as they relate to revenue, costs, and other financial and statistical analysis.
  • Compiles special reports for the Administrators.
  • Monitors activities of internal accounting procedures.
  • Handles multiple projects with numerous deadlines for each project. Works under time pressures.
  • Excellent creativity and good analytical abilities.
  • A good team player/leader.
  • Interacts frequently with various SB Health Care entities and departments.
  • Communicates financial information to SB Health Care (Parent Company).
  • Sets priorities in order to meet deadlines and flexibility to address ad hoc issues.
  • Develops custom spreadsheet programs using Excel, etc.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the financial statements for Total Life Healthcare.
  • This position is required to utilize sound independent judgment.
