PATIENT SERVICE REP- SBPC COMMUNICATIONS CONTROLOverview
Patient Service Representative role focused on coordinating communications for SBPC and patient registration processes.
Responsibilities- Greet patients and arrange for the efficient and orderly registration of patients.
- Ensure that accurate patient and insurance information is collected and that patients are made aware of clinic policies and procedures.
- Answer telephone calls and provide billing information to patients as needed.
- Process medical records requests, information requests, and general patient account functions.
- Handle confidential patient information with discretion and professionalism.
- Make frequent decisions following general procedures, often without clearly defined precedents; maintain a high degree of mental alertness and attention to detail.
- Maintain a professional image when dealing with patients, families, visitors, and clinic personnel.
- Be the positive first point of service contact for clinic customers; contribute to a positive patient experience.
- Attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED. - Experience:
Minimum of one-year experience in a customer service setting; preferably six months receptionist experience in a health care setting and experience with office equipment. - Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Physical:
This is a safety-sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information. Normal office environment. Vision corrected to 20/20. Hearing within normal to soft tones. Sitting for 7-8 hours/day. May stand, walk, use fingers to handle objects, or feel tools and controls. Requires hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Reach with hands and arms. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
May be exposed to airborne particles. Must be able to view computer screens for long periods. Occasional stress related to workload and customers with problems.
