Responsibilities- Greet patients and arrange for the efficient and orderly registration of patients. Ensure accurate patient and insurance information is collected and that patients are made aware of clinic policies and procedures.
- Answer telephone; respond to billing questions from patients. Process medical records requests, information requests, and general patient account functions.
- Work with and have access to confidential patient information. Make frequent decisions following general procedures often without clearly defined precedents. Maintain a high degree of mental alertness and close visual attention to details. Display diplomacy and professional image and manner in dealing with patients, families, visitors, and clinic personnel. Provide a positive first impression as the initial point of service contact for clinic customers.
Attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Minimum of one-year experience in a customer service setting, preferably six months receptionist experience in a health care setting and experience with office equipment.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Physical:
Normal office environment. Close eye work; vision corrected to 20/20. Hearing normal to soft tones. Sitting for 7-8 hours/day. May be required to stand, walk, use fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, controls. Requires hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Reach with hands and arms. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to airborne particles. Must be able to view computer screens for long periods.
Occasional stress related to workload and customers with problems.
