Field Service Technician - Conveyor & Electrical Systems
Duravant Integrated Solutions, the new system integration business for Duravant, is focused on providing solutions to both integrator and end‑user customers. Integration Services leverages the products from our Duravant family of companies, which includes automated equipment for food processing, packaging, and material handling along with products and services from strategic equipment partners.
We are adding Field Service Technicians for our installation team, responsible for unloading, installing, and setting up equipment in a timely and efficient manner. The role requires heavy travel (up to 95%) and strong electrical experience. Candidates must be self‑motivated problem solvers with a “can do” attitude to meet project deadlines.
PositionDuties & Responsibilities
- Properly, timely, and efficiently install equipment and/or upgrades at a customer’s facility.
- Use power and hand tools to assemble large automated systems.
- Work with a team to assemble, move, and install sorting and conveyor system equipment, sub‑assemblies, modules, and top‑level machine systems according to engineering specifications and procedures.
- Test and confirm all features and functions perform as designed.
- Follow proper escalation policies and procedures.
- Monitor and test fixes to ensure problems are adequately resolved.
- Assemble and set up conveyor driven sortation systems.
- Verify functioning and conformance to specifications using various hand and power tools at each level.
- Ability to travel up to 95% of the time (company covers travel, hotel, per diem).
- 3+ years of experience installing or servicing material handling equipment, conveyors, or other industrial equipment.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning.
- Electrical installation experience on material handling systems.
- Experience using computer, cell phone, email, Microsoft Office, and Teams.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and machine drawings.
- Fast learner with strong attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
- Valid driver’s license and eligibility for a U.S. passport.
Work Environment Requirements
- Minimum 10‑hour shifts.
- Ability to lift, push, bend, and unload equipment.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Extensive travel to customer installation sites.
