OverviewOlsson offers clients a full spectrum of water and wastewater services, including planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services. Maintaining water quality is Olsson’s number one concern, and we respond to a broad set of client demands in a timely and cost-effective manner.
The Water/Wastewater team is looking for an experienced water and/or sewer modeling engineer to perform hydraulic modeling and master planning to meet the client’s needs from conception to completion. As a modeling engineer, you will perform process design calculations, create population and demand projections, assist with report writing, and attend meetings with the client. You will also provide project design using CAD/modeling software, perform technical analysis, prepare construction documents, provide construction services, perform research, and write technical reports.
You will work closely with other team members and engineers on wastewater collection and treatment projects, along with water supply, storage, treatment, and distribution. Typical tasks include sanitary sewer piping, wastewater pump stations, wastewater treatment facilities, water piping, water supply wells, water storage tanks, and water treatment facilities.
- Provides high-level project design and review of project documents and design quality for complex projects.
- Serves as a technical specialist, applying advanced engineering concepts and developing approaches to solve for complexities.
- Performs QA/QC and ensures delivery of completed designs meets quality standards and project objectives.
- Conducts research in areas of considerable scope and complexity.
- Advises and directs staff on design approaches to fulfill project requirements.
- Works collaboratively to promote efficiencies and produce high quality work.
- Contributes to the development of standards and/or guidelines for engineering activities within the team.
- Supervises and reviews technical assignments of less experienced staff. Assists with mentoring and development of junior staff.
- Helps to build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring our projects meet and exceed client expectations.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, or a related field.
- Understanding of water and wastewater master planning process.
- Solid understanding of open channel and closed pipe hydraulics.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro mapping software.
- 10+ years of experience with water and sewer modeling software such as Info Works ICM, Sewer
GEMS, Water
GEMS, Info Water Pro, and/or Water
CAD.
Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity.
Colorado Pay Range
$116,000 - $173,000 USD
