Sanitation Technician

Position Summary

Ensure the efficient and effective cleaning of production equipment and adjacent areas, in addition to other environments, following approved sanitary methods. Train new associates and help out anyone running behind schedule to ensure on-time startups.

Essential Functions:

• Train new sanitation workers.
• Responsible for the safe use of appropriate chemical solutions to ensure the cleanest and most highly sanitized equipment.
• Ensure that all necessary safety precautions are followed in performing your responsibilities.
• Responsible for following through on projects assigned.
• Cleans equipment by using hot water hoses and/or high pressure soap hoses with temperatures up to 160 degrees.
• Lifts, carries, pushes or pulls parts or equipment with weights up to 100# or more.
• Climbs ladders to clean spirals/equipment.
• Forklift, pallet jack, and manlift licensed for certain areas.
• Tearing equipment down and assisting Production to put line back together.
• Works with soaps and other cleaning compounds, some toxic if not handled correctly.
• Assist wherever needed to ensure on-time startups.
• Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees.
• Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots or overshoes, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company.

• Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts & horseplay.
• Use proper lifting techniques.
• Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift).
• Use personal assistance (buddy).
• Use handrails.
• Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Prefer high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• People & leadership skills.
• Computer Literate.
• Manlift, forklift & pallet jack certified.
• Must be able to work overnight shift.
• Able and willing to complete CGMP, HACCP, SSOPs, safety, and equipment trainings.
• Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination.
• Constant stand/walk required.
• Occasionally climb stairs.
• Ability to work in wet and cold temperatures.
