Joplin Concrete is a proud supplier of ready-mix concrete, serving the Joplin and Neosho regions for more than a century. We are seeking a full-time Plant Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of activities designed to service, repair, and maintain plants and associated pieces of Company-owned equipment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing concrete plant equipment, with basic fabrication skills and working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and pneumatic systems. The position requires comfort working at heights and using equipment such as ladders, scaffolding, and bucket trucks. Starting hourly wage for this position is $20 - $26 depending upon experience.

Job Requirements:

• Considerable knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used to repair plants and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety issues associated with the use of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Ability to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public and other employees.
• Special Requirements - Possess a valid CDL Class A or B license with appropriate endorsements.
• Maintains a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations and company policy.
• Adheres to safety requirements and procedures, and wearing of required safety equipment and clothing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Performs maintenance and repair activities on plants and related production equipment.
• Diagnoses, services, and repairs various systems found in pieces of equipment owned by the Company.
• Fabricates, modifies, or installs equipment or parts as needed to repair equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance checks and adjustments on fluid levels, hoses, belts, dust collection systems, and other motor-driven equipment.
• Performs electrical repairs as needed.
• Maintains service logs and records of maintenance repairs.
• Adheres to all OSHA and Joplin Concrete Company Safety Programs for working on Silos.
• Keeps tools, equipment, and work area clean, organized, and in good working condition.

Physical Requirements:

• Must possess a current Medical Card as required by DOT Regulations.
• Physical demand requires work up to 60 pounds of force routinely to move objects.
• Frequent use of fine motor skills, physical coordination, and visual acuity/depth perception for safe driving of a vehicle.
• Occasional climbing onto trailers to perform various tasks.
• Frequent extension of arms overhead for cleaning vehicles, climbing ladders, and entering/exiting vehicles.
