Installation Shop Technician at 4 State Trucks

Summary: This position installs aftermarket truck parts and performs light maintenance and/or replacement services on customer semi-trucks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluates equipment and work to be done.
• Pre-fits parts, modifications, or additions made to parts or equipment, including cutting mounting holes for hardware, lights, wiring, etc.
• Makes necessary brackets, trimming parts as needed, bonds parts to equipment/hardware.
• Makes final assembly, installing completed parts/accessories as required.
• Tests fit, adjusting as needed.
• Completes post service checklist on vehicles.
• Maintains shop equipment and tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma, or GED equivalent needed. Any further education/experience in the vehicle installation and maintenance are preferred.
• Must maintain a positive attitude, with a customer service focus in a fast-paced work environment.
• Should possess ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
• Should be detail-oriented, focused, driven, and a self-starter.
• Must have willingness to learn products sold, customer service, policies, procedures, and about the trucking industry as a whole in order to meet customer needs.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Need own tool set for shop work.

Shift: Mon-Fri, Day Shift, 8am – 5pm

Working Conditions: Job will include periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping/kneeling, and bending. Stair climbing and walking on uneven surfaces will also be present. Subject to heat/cold conditions in shop conditions. Heavy use of hands and arms will be needed. May be required to lift to 50 lbs. by self, or team lift to 75 lbs.
