• Instructs and guides chemical dependency technicians in client care responsibilities and assignments.
• Orients new employees to unit-specific policies and procedures, offers constructive feedback and direction to students/interns on the unit.
• Conveys accurate information in a supportive and courteous manner to unit nursing and tech staff.
• Seeks supervision and direction from the physician; completes nursing assessments under the direction of the RN; assists with transfers, discharges, treatment plans, progress notes, medication reconciliation, medication administration, vitals; knowledge of detox protocols; assists the medical doctor as needed; provides medical lectures.
• Reports unusual occurrences to the nurse supervisor/program director promptly; ensures room assignments are appropriate to clients’ needs; attends and actively participates in departmental staff meetings.
• Maintains medical equipment in proper working order; maintains confidentiality and proper boundaries.
• Team builder with ability to drive continuous improvement projects; demonstrates excellent problem-solving/troubleshooting skills; acts as a teacher and cooperates within the team framework.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Current LPN license in the state of practice.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
• Awareness and understanding of regulating bodies (CARF, Office of Mental Health, DDAP).
