Hours per week:36A Brief Overview    Performs radiographic and other advanced modality imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries by performing the following duties.
Essential

Job Duties    Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic and advanced imaging procedures. Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.  Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.

Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.  Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.  Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control. Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.  

Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.  Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed. Performs office work including, but not limited to, answering phone, obtaining information from computer, and ordering departmental supplies.  Complies with all policies, standards, mandatory training and requirements of Stormont Vail Health  Performs other duties as assigned    Qualifications    6 months Experience in at least one advanced modalities.

Required  3 months surgery experience. Required  2 years Experience in a hospital/clinic. Preferred  Radiography - ARRT Required  Passage of at least one advance modality (CT, NM, MRI MG, or US), as determined by SVH Imaging department needs is preferred.  Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.
