Hours:

4:30am- 3:00pm, M-Th

Location:

JUNCTION CITY, KS

Duration: 3 months

Summary

Follows procedures, checklists, and safety protocols. Builds boxes, cleans and maintains printers, keeps track of tools and equipment, and ensures all needed supplies are available. Under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Production Operator is primarily responsible for the efficient operation of duties and responsibilities assigned in the operation of equipment. Inspects and prepares product per SOPs.

Responsibilities
  • Threads and splices new material onto old, as required, and/or packages slits or handles material.
  • Sets up and adjusts equipment including coaters, winding, finishing and other duties as assigned to maintain product quality.
  • Monitors equipment per requirements vs. schedule to assure efficient completion.
  • Records production and raw material usage manually and electronically per SOPs.
  • Cleans machinery, equipment and work area as scheduled and as needed.
  • Communicates and cooperates with other crew members to maintain quality, operational efficiency and safety.
  • Identifies and labels hazardous waste materials for proper disposal.
  • Recommends and implements methods to increase the quality of products and/or services.

  • Ability to serve on teams for quality, safety, waste reduction and lean principles.
  • Participates in self‑development activities and training of others.
  • Exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices.
  • Performs other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.
  • Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.
Qualifications
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • High School diploma or the equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is a plus, e.g., production environment.
  • Able to operate independently and as a member of a team.
  • Able to read and follow SOPs, labels, and instructions.
  • Ability to use computer and internal software systems to input data.
