A large private, not-for-profit organization that offers a wide range of outpatient services for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing concerns related to their emotional and mental health as well as to their alcohol or drug use has a need for an experienced psych nurse practitioner.
Responsibilities include:- Conducting psychiatric evaluations of mental health center clients
- Providing medication management and education services consistent with the needs of the client.
- Facilitating and evaluating patients for admission to inpatient mental health or substance use treatment as required.
- Providing case consultation to the agency’s clinical staff as necessary.
- Utilizing staff psychiatrists for supervision and case consultation as necessary.
- Collaborating with administrative/support staff to ensure efficiency in scheduling client appointments, follow up, consultations, phone calls, and paperwork time.
- Collaborating with nursing staff to ensure effective follow up, monitoring, and education regarding medication and symptoms of mental illness with clients and family members.
