Kitchen Staff (Summer Camp)

Position Overview: Are you ready to make a difference this summer while building valuable skills? Join the dynamic summer camp team at Rock Springs Ranch as a Kitchen Staff Member
! In this hybrid role, you’ll work both front of house (serving and interacting with campers) and back of house (meal prep and kitchen operations) to create a welcoming and delicious dining experience for campers. This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to foster community, develop leadership skills, and contribute to the mission of Kansas 4-H: empowering youth to lead and thrive.

The Kansas 4-H Foundation is the 501(c)(3) fundraising arm for Kansas 4-H, the state’s largest positive youth development program, as well as Rock Springs Ranch, the state 4-H camp and conference center. The Foundation works with businesses, organizations, individuals and families who share a common desire to support a statewide effort of growing future leaders. Rock Springs Ranch is a 735-acre property located in the heart of the flint hills and is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a Positive Dining Experience
  :
  Set up the dining area, keep it clean and inviting, and ensure smooth meal service.

• Engage with Campers
  :
  Serve meals with a friendly attitude and assist campers with dietary needs or questions.

• Maintain Efficiency
  :
  Monitor buffet lines to restock food and beverages as needed, ensuring no one goes hungry.

• Prep and Cook Meals
  :
  Assist in preparing delicious, nutritious, and allergen-conscious meals (nut-free, vegetarian, and gluten-free options).

• Support Kitchen Operations
  :
  Help with ingredient prep, dishwashing, and maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards.

• Collaborate as a Team
  :
  Work with chefs and other staff to ensure meals are on time and meet quality standards.
