About the Job:

The Maintenance Reliability Engineer will report to the Electrical Engineer and is responsible for developing and implementing predictive and preventative maintenance strategies for mobile and fixed plant assets to ensure reliability and longevity. The schedule for this position is 14 days on at the mine site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 14 days off.

A schedule of 4 days on and 3 days off could be considered if the successful applicant lives in or relocates to Juneau.

Responsibilities:

  • Stop work for safety concerns and abide by safety best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop, track, and forecast tools using tools and data from external oil analysis (Dingo) on mobile components and fixed plant assets. Over time, transition to managing our own oil analysis lab on-site to better turnaround time on samples
  • Develop detailed PM routes in the fixed processes (water treatment, mill, powerhouse, compressors, UG Fans) to ensure asset longevity through proper monitoring and maintenance practices.
  • Use tools such as PI Vision (operational monitoring) and digital equipment monitoring to predict failure modes on fixed equipment.
  • Assist in establishing intervals on UG component rebuilds to replace before failure.
  • Monitor electrical assets through heat IF monitoring in MCC and power reticulation
  • Manage annual NDT tank inspections, crawler inspection on the tails line, mobile frame inspections, crane inspections and pressure vessel inspections and registries.
  • Develop a corrosion monitoring plan for fixed assets.
  • Assist with investigating wear components and options for improved wear life with material selection and DCT treatment.
  • Investigate failure modes and recommend actions to prevent recurrence
  • Assist with structural analysis and designs that can be stamped by a 3 rd party for process and facility improvements.
  • Assist with pumping selections and improvements to optimize performance

Qualifications &

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work safe and promote safe behavior in others.
  • Engineering experience of 1-3 years in an industrial environment preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication, customer service and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset – being respectful, reliable, and easy to work with is just as important as technical skills.
  • Sets high standards for self and others, builds trust, and takes accountability.
  • Ability to work a 14 day on 14 day off, camp-based rotation.
  • Preference given to Alaska residents.
