Under the guidance of the Human Resource Consultant 5, this pivotal role offers advanced-level professional HR support to the managers and supervisors of the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS). You'll be at the forefront, providing expert advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures, tackling personnel management, employee and labor relations, bargaining agreements, classification, and absence management. - Provide advanced-level professional HR support to managers and supervisors.
- Advise on HR policies and procedures.
- Handle personnel management, employee and labor relations, bargaining agreements, classification, and absence management.
- Serve as a key player in shaping the future of AMHS.
- Employee Relations: Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, case law, principles, and practices related to employee conduct, performance, and dispute resolution.
- Conflict Management: Encourages creative tension and differences of opinions, anticipates and takes steps to prevent counter-productive confrontations, manages and resolves conflicts and disagreements constructively.

- Professional
Experience:
Training in human resource management, business administration, or organizational leadership and professional experience in human resources such as recruitment, payroll, classification and compensation, employee and labor-management relations, employer-provided benefit programs, employment law compliance, or employee training.
