What You Will Be DoingThis position functions as the Department of Revenue’s primary web developer and content architect, responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing the Department’s Internet and Intranet web presence using modern web technologies and content management systems. This includes full lifecycle support for internal and public-facing sites through tools like Microsoft SharePoint Online, Sitefinity CMS, and supporting technologies.
The incumbent independently evaluates business needs and translates them into accessible, standards-compliant, secure, and engaging web solutions. This position operates with a high level of technical autonomy and collaborates with program subject matter experts and stakeholders across all divisions.
Mission and CultureThe Department of Revenue’s Administrative Services Division provides centralized support services for core division programs whose mission is to collect, distribute, and invest funds for public purposes.

The Working Environment You Can ExpectThis position will be located in either the Atwood Building in downtown Anchorage or the State Office Building in Juneau—both centrally situated near restaurants, shops, and public amenities. The employee will work in a standard office cubicle environment using a modern Windows workstation, with no regular travel required.
Who We Are Looking For- Web Technology:
Knowledge of the principles and methods of web technologies, tools, and delivery systems, including web security, privacy policy practices, and user interface issues. - Software Development:
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for designing, developing, and testing software in a given environment. - Information Systems/Network Security:
Knowledge of methods, tools, and procedures, including development of information security plans, to prevent information systems vulnerabilities and provide or restore security. - Requirements Analysis:
Knowledge of the principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure requirements; includes translating functional requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or presenting alternative technologies or approaches. - Technical Competence:
Uses knowledge acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one’s job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

Minimum QualificationsFour years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of this experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer information management support specialty.
SubstitutionA bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS) or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for one year of the required experience.
