Overview

If you are passionate, customer-focused, innovative, consultative, collaborative, and want to have fun whilst you work, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Driving customer success through high quality architectural solutions is the cornerstone of our ambitions. You will be instrumental in defining Oracle standard best practice, with a firm focus on the customer.

This architecture role combines technical and soft skills. If you have strong all-round technical skills, the ability to engage with people, build trusted relationships, communicate ideas, and build consensus, you are the kind of person we are looking for.

Your contribution will help define best practice for how customers can move their applications to Oracle Cloud, engaging with Oracle teams worldwide, designing and defining global standards for Oracle Cloud Architecture, and building customer-centric guides to Oracle Cloud Architecture.

At Oracle, you will have a high degree of responsibility and autonomy, with a competitive compensation and benefits package and ongoing training in a structured environment.

There may be some visits to Oracle offices or customer premises, but daily interactions are expected to be via Zoom. You will need a reliable internet connection and have flexibility in work hours.

We aim to make Oracle a fun and rewarding place to work, joining a community of like-minded architects who support each other.

What you’ll do

What you’ll do includes contributing to or leading virtual teams that design, process, manufacture, test, and market products as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities to ensure project timelines are met.

You will support our field organization to help customers deploy Oracle products and services to achieve business goals. Effective communication through multiple media (written, video, visualization) is essential.

You will participate in the Architecture Community within Oracle, contributing to reference architectures and leveraging the broader community for help.

Continual development of architects is critical; you will have time to stay current with new technologies and products and receive training to develop both technical and soft skills. What you’ll bring includes enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for customer success.

Responsibilities

Architectural skills and experience are important for this role and include:

  • Ability to understand complex systems and map them to cloud architectures and solutions
  • General understanding of cloud architecture and hybrid on-premise/cloud designs
  • Strong architectural understanding of networking, security, resilience, and connectivity
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with comfort across IT management, architects, administrators, and executives
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to build virtual teams to deliver architecture deliverables
  • Experience engaging and influencing senior leaders is highly desirable

For this position, a good understanding of Snowflake and Databricks from technical and business perspectives is required. Additional technical skills include:

  • Broad knowledge of IT systems and the IT industry
  • Experience defining and enabling best practices in cloud environments
  • Strong problem-solving and ability to abstract complex problems
  • Knowledge of Oracle database concepts, tools, and capabilities
  • Architecting high availability solutions with Oracle Database, Data Guard, RAC, and related technologies
  • Experience upgrading and migrating complex multi-tier systems with minimal outages
  • Disaster recovery and failover capabilities for multi-tier and multi-cloud deployments
  • Hands-on cloud deployment experience;
    Oracle OCI experience preferred
  • Basic developer skills in at least one backend…
