Overview
Division Operations Manager for the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Program Management and Administration. The position is located at 3132 Channel Drive, Juneau and is open to Alaska residents only.
ResponsibilitiesAs a lead Financial Manager, you will oversee a significant portion of DOT&PF’s finances, set policy direction, and ensure financial stability and sustainability by evaluating revenue streams, optimizing costs, and maintaining internal controls. You will advise executive staff on budget priorities and policy matters, provide strategic guidance, and offer recommendations to enhance financial efficiency and effectiveness.

The role demands adaptability and resourcefulness as you maintain and improve roads, bridges, airports, ports, and public facilities across Alaska’s rugged terrain and extreme seasonal changes.
Qualifications- Financial Management: Prepare, justify, and administer the budget for program areas; plan, administer, and monitor expenditures to ensure cost‑effective support of programs and policies.
- Budget Administration: Knowledge of principles and practices of budget administration and analysis, including preparing, justifying, reporting on, and executing the budget.
- Organizational Awareness: Understand the organization’s mission, functions, and how its social, political, and technological systems operate.
- Oral and Written Communication: Express information effectively to individuals or groups, taking into account the audience and nature of the information.
- Supervision: Plan, distribute, and monitor work assignments; evaluate work performance and provide feedback to others.
- Three (3) professional references, one of which should be from a former or current supervisor.
- Two most recent performance evaluations or professional letters of reference if unavailable.
- Cover letter (no more than two to three paragraphs) describing how you possess the position‑specific competencies.
