We are seeking a qualified Anesthetist to provide procedural sedation and airway management at Juneau Procedure Center and anesthesia services at SEARHC hospitals. The role involves evaluating patient health, developing sedation plans, and independently determining anesthetic techniques and pharmaceuticals based on patient responses and procedural needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical anesthesia services, including pre-sedation evaluations, administration of sedation agents, and post-sedation follow-up.
- Collaborate with medical and administrative leadership to develop service approaches for specific urological issues.
- Interpret complex medical data to inform sedation care.
- Participate in medical staff functions and quality assurance activities.
- Adhere to medical staff bylaws and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Guide the care team to ensure quality care delivery.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in an accredited nurse anesthesia program or certification in Nursing Anesthesiology (pre-1990).
- Bachelor’s degree, medical school degree, and urology residency completion.
- Current unrestricted RN license in Alaska.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Alaska or another state.
- Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS. - High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of clinical anesthesia experience; 4 years preferred.
Knowledge &
Skills:
- Deep understanding of human physiology, pharmacology, and response to surgical stress.
- Technical proficiency with complex medical equipment.
- Expertise in airway management, regional anesthesia, and sedation.
- Strong communication skills.
Abilities:
- Maintain control during rapidly changing sedation scenarios.
- Quickly evaluate and respond to emergencies.
- Work independently and collaboratively with healthcare teams and support staff.
