  • Minimum Qualifications:
    A high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirement.
    One year of food service experience in general food preparation, proper food handling, food safety, and sanitation.
    Proficiency in cashiering and Microsoft Office.
    Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
    Must attend the four-hour ASD Serving It Safe food safety course and pass the exam within 21 days of hire.
    One year of supervisory experience, including planning and directing staff work.
    Experience providing training in kitchen responsibilities.
    Knowledge of pre-plate and centralized food prep and delivery.
    Previous experience as a food service manager.
    Experience with food service POS and inventory systems.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    Manage food and supply inventories, ordering, records, cash procedures, deposits, and paperwork.
    Ensure timely meal preparation for students.
    Monitor and record kitchen equipment temperatures per HACCP standards.
    Resolve complaints and communicate concerns.
    Train, supervise, and evaluate cafeteria staff.
    Coordinate employee timecards and leave.
    Organize meal programs and assign tasks.
    Maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
    Ensure NSLP compliance and accurate record-keeping.
    Report maintenance issues.
    Follow district policies and USDA guidelines.
    Plan and make decisions independently.
    Assign tasks to aides and substitutes.
    Build positive relationships with staff, students, and the public.
  • Physical and Environmental Demands:
    Frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing.
    Visual acuity required.
    Ability to lift less than 40 lbs.
    Handle stress and conflict effectively.
    Work may involve outdoor conditions and moderate noise levels.
