Overview
Responsible for the preparation and serving of all alcoholic beverages at the Timberline Bar & Grill, to contribute to guest satisfaction and premier customer service atmosphere.
Pay and BenefitsSeasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. The plan is designed to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. Goldbelt, Inc. may grant discretionary performance bonuses in limited circumstances. Starting Wage: $16.00- DOE.
Responsibilities- Efficient and effective operation of sales of Alcohol and selling Nature center Products.
- Coordinates sales receipts reporting with the Front of House Manager and staff.
- Stocks and maintains alcohol and products for ongoing inventory.
- Adherence to standard bar opening, operating, and closing procedures and handling complaints quickly and efficiently.
- Workplace and equipment kept sanitary and orderly.
- Liquor serving laws and TB&G House Alcohol Policy followed; high service standards maintained.
- Other incidental and related duties as assigned by the Front of House Manager.
- Knowledgeable about product range and actively promotes merchandise to increase customers’ options.
- Processes orders promptly using a POS system.
- Promotes special sales, offers and loyalty program awareness.
- Explains characteristics and origin of art/merchandise to customers.
- Ensures daily that the Nature Center is cleaned, fully stocked and neat.
- Assists with opening and closing procedures.
- Assists with training of staff when appropriate.
- Operates the cash register; records cash receipt transactions.
- Assumes all responsibility for Nature Center till.
- Assists with hauling supplies to/from retail locations.
- Thorough knowledge of mixology practices and proficient in bar equipment operation.
- Knowledge of State of Alaska liquor laws.
- Knowledge of computerized cash register systems and cash collection procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance daily.
- Willingness to learn and share local history, people, culture, geography with guests.
- Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
- Willingness to work all shifts including holidays and weekends.
- Stress handling under pressure.
- Quality customer service provision.
- Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Heavy customer contact and excellent customer service skills.
- Positive focus and customer service skills to ensure customer return.
- Knowledge of customer service techniques.
- Current Training for Alcohol Professional (TAP) card.
- One (1) year of bartender experience.
- State of Alaska Food Workers Card.
- Successfully pass a background check.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience as a bartender.
- High school or GED.
- Experience in a tour-related or entertainment industry desired.
- Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures, including CPR and First Aid certification.
