The Retail Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and training of retail staff, and acts as a liaison between front line staff and management regarding issues directly affecting day‑to‑day operations. The role includes maintaining accurate daily sales records and ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming retail environment.

Seasonal employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan and may receive discretionary performance bonuses. Starting rate: $24.00 – DOE.

• Warmly welcome and engage customers as they enter the store.
• Maintain a friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Ensure the retail shop is clean, fully stocked, and neatly presented daily.
• Operate, supervise, and coordinate all duties and activities of the retail shop and staff.
• Open/close the shop, record, reconcile, and report daily cash receipts.
• Oversee inventory processes, including receiving, pricing, and proper display of products.
• Supervise, train, and schedule retail clerks.
• Participate in staff orientation and customer service training.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of gifts and artists to share with customers and staff.
• Promote merchandise to enhance the shopping experience.
• Ensure a safe and efficient retail space.
• Maintain product displays and availability of supplies for staff use.
• Perform limited inventory management.
• Uphold Goldbelt’s policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance.
• Act as liaison between front line staff and management regarding day‑to‑day operational issues.
• Conduct customer purchasing transactions and explain item characteristics and origins.
• Ensure all staff follows Goldbelt Tram regulations and the Retail Manager’s guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Ability to meet time and attendance requirements, including holidays and weekends.
• Capability to handle stress under pressure.
• Highly proficient sales and cash handling skills.
• Understanding of retail operations, inventory control, transaction processing, and reporting.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, POS, email).
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues.
• Direct public‑facing experience with tact and courtesy.
• Willingness to learn and share local history, culture, and geography with guests.
• Detail oriented and familiar with basic cleaning principles.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six (6) months of cash handling experience.
• Successfully pass a background check.

• One (1) year of lead retail clerk experience.
• One (1) year of additional cash handling experience.
• Prior tram retail experience.
• Two (2) years of retail supervisory or managerial experience.
• Four (4) years of customer service experience.
• One (1) year of administrative or clerical background.
• Experience with POS systems (RMS preferred).
• High‑volume cash handling experience.
