Summary

The Goldbelt Tram is a leading tourist destination in Juneau, Alaska. We have millions of guests from around the world visiting one of their “bucket list” destinations! We are looking for positive, friendly, and enthusiastic ambassadors to represent Alaska, our local culture, and the Goldbelt Tram! We need you to deliver an incredible and memorable retail experience that continues beyond the store visit.

Part-time and full-time schedules are available. We’re excited to share that the job is based in beautiful Juneau, Alaska! We kindly ask that all applicants either live in Juneau or be open to relocating at their own expense.

Pay and Benefits

Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan, designed to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, at the sole discretion of the Company, hoping that short-term incentive compensation will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees, thereby enhancing Goldbelt Inc.’s

long‑term value. Sales Associate I Starting Rate: $15.00 - DOE. Sales Associate II Starting Rate: $18.00 - DOE.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome and engage customers as they enter the store.
• Always maintain a friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous demeanor.
• Stay knowledgeable about our range of products and actively promote merchandise to increase customers’ options and enrich the shopping experience.
• Process orders promptly using a POS (point of sale) system.
• Promote special sales, offers, and awareness of the store loyalty program.
• Explain characteristics and origin of art/merchandise to customers.
• Assist with inventory such as stocking, displaying, pricing, etc.
• Ensure daily that the retail shop is cleaned, fully stocked, and neat in appearance.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with training of staff when appropriate.
• Operate the cash register; make and record cash receipt transactions.
• Assume all responsibility for the gift shop bank/till.
• Assist with hauling supplies to/from retail locations.

Qualifications

• Possess a passion for delivering outstanding customer experience.
• Ability to handle stress under pressure.
• Ability to learn, understand, and follow written instructions and directions.
• Ability to build positive and cooperative work relationships.
• Cash handling skills.
• Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
• Ability to work all different shifts including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to provide quality customer service.
• Able to communicate verbally and understand and follow written and verbal instruction.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
• Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
• Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.
• Some knowledge of basic cleaning principles, equipment and products.
• Detail oriented.

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to successfully pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Goldbelt Tram Gift shop experience preferred.

Location:

Juneau, AK. Salary: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00
