Security Officer

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.04. This position provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff at assigned locations or areas. SEARHC is a non‑profit health consortium which serves the health interests of the residents of Southeast Alaska. • Patrols campus and assigned areas to monitor for conditions or situations which pose a risk to the safety of people or property.
• Provides routine comprehensive security services, including:
  • Assistance with patient restraint
  • Intervention in disruptions by patients
  • Traffic control
  • Guarding and patrolling physical property
  • Escorting visitors and employees
  • Monitoring systems
  • Orienting and monitoring of personnel working in high‑risk areas
  • Investigation of incidents
  • Access control
  • Enforcement of visitor policies
  • Respond to emergencies
  • Respirator fit testing
  • Hazard surveillance surveys
  • Participation in emergency drills
  • Public assistance requests
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Alaska driver’s license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
• IAHSS Basic certification within 3 months

• Six months of security‑related experience

• Security policies and procedures

• Effective communication

• Defuse potential security situations, including aggressive individuals
• Exercise good judgement in stressful and emergent situations
