The role will be part of the facilities team and is an advanced HVAC and refrigeration maintenance position with specialized responsibilities.

• Internal Hires:
  Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
• External Hires:
  This position starts at $38.57 per hour. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.

This is advanced level HVAC and/or refrigeration work performed under minimal supervision. Employees in this class troubleshoot, repair, adjust, modify and remodel sophisticated HVAC and/or refrigeration control systems (pneumatic, electric and electronic) and related mechanical and electronic equipment. Employees are responsible for the most specialized and technically advanced environmental controls. These controls are used to balance elements such as outside vs.

inside temperature, humidity and air velocity, taking into consideration factors such as time of day usage, system capabilities and energy efficiency. These employees typically lead Maintenance Mechanics in the more routine maintenance and repair of the systems or perform this work incidental to their primary function as the systems expert. In addition, these employees may be responsible for the design, development, operation and ongoing maintenance of a computerized energy management system used to monitor and control heating and air conditioning systems and report and make recommendations on energy conservation procedures, controls and activities.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Education:
  
  Associates degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
  
  Four (4) years of experience in a specialized maintenance field such as HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, or relevant field.
• Preferred Certification(s):
  Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Journeyman Mechanic certification, HVAC certification.
• License(s):
  Valid Driver’s License.
