Maintenance Specialist - Building/Facility/Construction, Journey 2/Lead (PCN 20-6517)
State of Alaska is seeking a qualified Maintenance Specialist to serve as the Lead for the Highland Mountain Correctional Center in Eagle River, Alaska. The Specialist will be responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure and ensuring the safety and operational integrity of the facility.
What You Will Be Doing- Maintain perimeter security systems, CCTV camera systems, cable television systems, and electronic door and lock systems.
- Oversee fire protection systems, telephone and voicemail systems, intercom systems, and HVAC systems.
- Repair and maintain computer networking wiring systems and other facility infrastructure.
- Work under general direction of the Maintenance Lead to support the overall security and well‑being of the institution.
- Accountability:
Demonstrate self‑ and other accountability for measurable high‑quality, timely, and cost‑effective results. - Mechanical:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance. - Building and Construction:
Knowledge of materials, construction methods, and building tools.
- Competency‑based series class specifications for labor, trades, and crafts. The class specification identifies required work behaviors and certifications.
