Social Services Associate (SSA)
This full‑time position is located in Bethel, Alaska and is open to Alaska Residents only. Applicants must meet the residency definition outlined by the Department of Family and Community Services.
Responsibilities- Travel up to four times a month to provide support in family contact sessions, gathering information for assessments, case planning and evaluation.
- Assist professional staff by accessing electronic databases, providing parenting support, and making necessary referrals to other agencies.
- Support families and children by enhancing capacities, providing healthy start resources, maintaining cultural connections, and promoting safe and permanent homes.
- Maintain professionalism, calmness, and strong critical‑thinking skills while interacting with families, children, and staff.
- Work overtime as required by the Office of Children’s Services; support a healthy work/life balance for all staff.

- A valid Real‑a driver’s license is required.
- Mileage reimbursement is available when a personal vehicle is used; automotive insurance must be in place prior to use.
- A child‑protective history check, background check, and fingerprint check will be performed per state regulations.
- Additional training courses may be required, usually located in Anchorage.
One year of any combination of postsecondary or vocational education and/or experience in assisting clients, customers, or the general public with guidelines, policies, or services.
