Equipment Operator – Journey 1/2/3 Lead – King Salmon

Salary Information
  • Equipment Operator Journey 1: $31.62 / hourly - OT Eligible
  • Equipment Operator Journey 2: $33.44 / hourly - OT Eligible
  • Equipment Operator Lead/Journey 3: $35.53 / hourly - OT Eligible
What You Will Be Doing – Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operator Journey 1: Performs airport and highway maintenance at a State maintenance station that includes a rural Part 139 certificated airport. Maintains State highways, airports, seaplane floats, bridges, and docks. Complies with all applicable Federal and State rules. Uses light duty equipment; heavy equipment training capacity.
  • Equipment Operator Journey 2: Performs airport and highway maintenance at the State maintenance station. Maintains State highways, airports, seaplane floats, bridges, and docks. Complies with all applicable Federal and State rules.
  • Equipment Operator Lead/Journey 3: Performs airport and highway maintenance at the State maintenance station. Maintains State highways, airports, seaplane floats, bridges, and docks. Complies with all applicable Federal and State rules.

Qualifications
  • Transportation: Knowledge of moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road.
  • Vehicle operation: Knowledge of operating motor vehicles, cars, trucks, or watercraft.
  • Problem solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance; uses sound judgment.
  • Eye-hand coordination: Accurately coordinate eye, fingers, wrists, or arms to perform job-related tasks.
Common License and Certification Requirements
  • Equipment Operator Journey 1: Class A CDL within six months; comply with Equipment Operator Flex LOA. Failure to obtain licensure terminates employment.
  • Equipment Operator Journey 2: Class A CDL;
    Tanker N endorsement within 90 days. Hazardous Materials endorsement optional. Random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Equipment Operator Journey 3: Class A CDL;
    Tanker N endorsement within 90 days; optional Hazardous Materials endorsement. Random drug and alcohol testing. Flex from Journey 2 to Journey 3 requires additional ARFF training and competencies.
Arms & Ammunition Requirement
  • Position requires use of firearm or ammunition. Must obtain and maintain firearms qualification.
  • Applicants with misdemeanor domestic violence convictions are ineligible.
Drug and Alcohol Policy
  • Must comply with DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy. Cannot start work until Pre-Employment drug test cleared.
  • Random drug and alcohol testing during employment.
Flexibly Staffed

Position may be filled at Journey 1, Journey 2, or Lead/Journey 3 depending on training and experience. Starting salary based on level. Promotion opportunities after probation.
