MOH has set up a National Trauma Registry (NTR) in 2011 to consolidate data in support the development of a national care system and related public health policies. As part of the data collection process, institutional satellite databases are set up to capture institutional based data and sent to central NTR data repository at NRDO.
The database coordinator role includes the following: in accordance with NTR Abstraction Guideline:
Involve in system development of the satellite database
Ensure accurate data entry into the satellite databases and transmitted timely to the central repository at NRDO
Collect 6 and 12-mnth follow data via telephone interviews
Participate in quality assurance programme, e.g. inter-rater reliability test, audit for data error
To regular upload the collected cases to the central system, National Disease Registry System
In addition, the database coordinator performs secretarial duties to the Trauma Committee and monthly Audit Meeting. The coordinator will assist in data extraction for NTR for research in relation to trauma for healthcare campus if required.
Job ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain National Trauma Registry
Using the AIS (Abbreviated Injury Score) and the ISS (Injury Severity Score) to calculate and assign a numerical value to a trauma based on the different injuries sustained at different parts of the victim
Ensure all relevant dataset in EMR (as agreed by Trauma Committee and NTR) are available and successfully upload to NTR.
Conduct 6 and 12-month follow-up outcome interviews via telephone.
Operational
Drafting of workflows, procedure manual and work instructions.
Quality Management
Coordinate and prepare hospital for MOH NTR audit
Involved in planning and monitoring the quality management indicators
Extract and monitor trending and ensure indicators are within set targets and work with stakeholders to address them if indicator is not performing to target.
Assist Trauma Chairperson in trauma related improvement initiatives in department.
Secretariat Support
Ensure timeliness of circulation of agenda and turnaround of meeting minutes.
Coordinate with stakeholders and ensure matters arising are followed through.
Manage logistics required.
Any other assignments
Be able to contribute to department, institutional, and cluster goals and objectives.
Bachelor’s Degree
2 years of work experience, preferably from the service/healthcare related industry
Good working knowledge of MS Office
Knowledge of statistics
