Skanska is seeking recent graduates in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and related disciplines for full‑time employment in our Skanska USA Civil West Core Competency Training Program (CCTP) beginning in 2026. The CCTP is not an internship; it is a full‑time rotational program giving entry‑level engineers experience in all core business areas of a Best‑of‑Class Heavy Civil Contractor. The 24‑month program consists of three rotations of six to nine months each.
Upon completion, employees are assigned to a position that best matches their strengths and the company’s needs.
- Office/Field Engineer
- Preconstruction/Estimating
- Project/Cost Controls
- Receive, review, forward, and track the status of submittals.
- Initiate, prepare, review, track, and distribute RFIs.
- Assist in managing the project permit process.
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages and procurement.
- Update construction schedules based on project team input, contractor progress, and material delivery.
- Manage change order systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders.
- Track and inspect material deliveries.
- Compile reports regarding the financial performance of projects.
- Assist in preparing monthly owner project status reports as required.
- Attend and/or lead project meetings, record meeting minutes, and report to the Project/Department Manager.
- Assist in project close‑out.
- Perform quantity take‑off and other estimating or preconstruction duties as required.
- Communicate and enforce Skanska Safety and Health Management Program.
- Demonstrate commitment to an injury‑free environment through personal actions and mentoring.
- Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities.
- Provide development and implementation of project controls standards and procedures.
- Interface with and maintain liaison with project management, owners, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain effective relationships.
- Perform estimating or accounting activities.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in mathematics (geometry, basic algebra, and basic accounting) preferred.
- Proficiency with computer programs such as MS Office, Outlook, AutoCAD, and scheduling software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time‑management skills to deliver quality work within expected time frames.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Positive interpersonal skills in a diverse team environment.
- Commitment to complying with all company policies, practices, and performance standards.
- Desire to pursue a long‑term career in the heavy civil construction industry.
Experience:
- A completed Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Mechanical or Civil), or a related field.
- Open to new graduates from December 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.

Salary: USD $66,700.00–$91,000.00 per year.
