The Machine Inserter assists the crew leader with a predetermined and required rotation of work stations including inserting, sorting, tying, and stacking of materials. Meets and maintains production quality and housekeeping standards, and follows safety procedures. Scheduled as needed based on production volume.

We are looking for a Machine Inserters in our Mira Loma facility, Grave shift. Weekend work required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for correctly jogging and loading product into mechanical inserter through manual and/or mechanical devices such as hopper loaders

Guides bundles from stacker to strapper assuring a smooth and efficient product flow

Stacks and flags material in preparation for shipping according to postal requirements

Responsible for correctly feeding product into inserter and for the quality of finished package.

Return left over inserts to correct container/skid to prepare for relocation by material handler.

Maintains a safe work area by following all safety and housekeeping rules at all times

Assures required paperwork is ready for processing (zone sheets/flags)

Reports to Crew Leader any production problems (jamming, tearing, non-inserted product, etc.)

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk reach with hand and arms, push/pull, bend and carry at lest 2/3 of the time. Talk or hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl at least 1/3 of the time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 2/3 of the time. Close, color, peripheral and depth perception vision required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Work Environment

The position requires working near moving mechanical parts in an environment that may contain fumes or particles, 2/3 or more of the time. Working in high and/or precarious places, around toxic chemicals, and driving a forklift may be required up to 1/3/ of the time. The work environment is loud. Ink mist and paper dust is commonly present.
